Cavern’s darkness bleeds deep
its pathways jagged and steep
but with this lantern of mine
every stone shall shine
When I raise the light, emerald walls glimmer and sparkle
the way aglow, “we aren’t too far now…”
Dark figure? No one’s there/ reflection in a mire but no time to stare
I figure it’s in the air/ lungs short of breath now no time to spare
Secret passage becomes unlocked by my lamp’s crystal
“Seems to be a long way down”
Here, a vast expanse of hidden trails and corridors
labyrinth aglow, “we may be lost now…”
Yet in the darkness we’ll shine
with this old lantern of mine
